Terminally-Ill Boy, Danny Nickerson, Gets Thousands Of Birthday Cards After Appeal

Terminally-Ill Boy Gets More Mail On Birthday Than Entire Town

Well folks, you did it.

You helped a dying little boy's wish come true by sending him over 100,000 birthday cards - more mail than his entire town of Foxboro received.

Six-year-old Danny Nickerson was diagnosed with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma last month - a condition from which less than 10% of sufferers live longer than 18 months.

With the help of his mother and local media, an appeal was launched to get the little boy as many birthday cards as possible.

Well-wishers from around the world obliged, providing a mountain of mail for Danny whose birthday was on Friday.

His father, Daniel Jamieson, said: "He’s having an absolute blast with everything.

"He’s been smiling so much the last few week. It’s been absolutely beautiful."

As an added treat Danny was also escorted by 100 police officers to the Gillette Stadium where New England Patriots practice.

He was then given a rendition of 'Happy Birthday' from cops and players.
