Gwen Stefani Shows Her Support For Public Breastfeeding On Instagram

We Adore Gwen Stefani's Stunning Breastfeeding Picture

Should mothers be able to breastfeed in public without criticism?

It's a question that has divided many women - and men for that matter - but one rock/pop star seems to be saying hells yeah to feeding her bubba regardless of who might be watching.

Singer Gwen Stefani posted the below photo to Instagram, showing her with her 5-month-old baby boy, Apollo Bowie Flynn.

In the snap, the 44-year-old appears to be breastfeeding her son beside a gorgeous, mountainous landscape in Switzerland.

Stefani joins Natalia Vodianova and Gisele Bunchen by Instagramming breastfeeding photos, helping to raise the profile of women feeding their babies in public..

At present, the UK has one of the lowest rates in the world for breastfeeding. Blogging for HuffPost UK Lifestyle, Lottie Daley writes about our need for more 'lactivists': "Women not breastfeeding their babies is a public health problem. We need a gargantuan shift in cultural perceptions of what's normal."

Gwen's picture may help to spark this "cultural shift", and she's not the only proud parent in celeb-land saying yes to public breastfeeding.

Models Gisele, Natalia Vodianova and Jaime King have all shared intimate photos of their breastfeeding.

King added a pointed statement with her post, writing: "These are the moments a mother lives for. Breastfeeding should not be taboo - and bottle feeding should not be judged - it's ALL fun for the whole family."
