Kazakhstan volleyball player, Sabina Altynbekova, has been deemed "too good looking" to be a sportswoman.
The 17-year-old has become a worldwide sensation, with 270,000 Instagram followers, 200,000 likes on Facebook and a good deal of YouTube videos dedicated to her most impressive moments on the volleyball court - but she's not too please with it.
She has now pleaded with her fans to focus on her sports skills rather than her doe-eyed good looks, saying the attention she receives is "a little bit much".
And her coach has complained that the fan reaction is making it difficult to run the team. "It is impossible to work like this," Nurlan Sadikov told Tengrin News in a quote translated by the Daily Mail. "The crowd behaves like there is only one player at the championship," she added.
The obsession with Sabina is scarily intense - fans have created social media sites dedicated to her; she has even been sketched into an anime character - even she's had enough.
"I was flattered at first but it's all getting a little bit much. I want to concentrate on playing volleyball and to be famous for that, not anything else," she said according to the Bleacher Report.
Other reports say her coach has even considered removing Sabina from the team.
Actress Olivia Wilde received similar criticism when she landed a role as a writer in her upcoming flick. Find out more here.
