A man has been filmed luring a squirrel to the edge of the Grand Canyon with breadcrumbs before kicking it off.
Another man photographs the sickening scene as the animal plunges to certain death.
The clip was filmed and uploaded onto YouTube by Jonathan Hildebrand
He said: "I did not realise what was happening until it was too late
"I do not know who they are. All I know is that they were French."
They can be seen laying a trail of breadcrumbs which the squirrel follows. The man nearest the edge then puts on a shoe before scooping the animal off the side.
The average depth of the Grand Canyon is around one mile.
