04/08/2014 14:05 | Updated 20 May 2015

Wellies are the ultimate festival essential no matter the weather. Come rain or shine those wellington boots will stay glued to your feet all festival long so you better find a pair you love.

Topshop, River Island, Hunter/ MyDaily

While we're in the middle of a heatwave right now we've pulled together an edit of our favourite wellies to see you through those sure to happen summer showers.

Waterproof footwear is a definite must. If not to brave the rain in, then to shrug off spillages and muddy walkways (and let's not even go there with the portable loos situ). We'd pack storm-proof outerwear too.

Hunter is the ultimate brand of wellington boot when it comes to functionality, fashion and true British style and their "festival" collection boasts standout palettes perfect for the field.

The brand's latest pair of boots from the line are dubbed "Shoreditch Ladies" and come complete with a leather-look finish, chunky moulded rubber sole and a buckle strap. So hipster.

If you don't want to splash a good £100 on your wellies then no worries, we've picked out the coolest styles going on the high street where you can bag yourself a pair for as little as £12.

The outlook is all about print (leopard and lip), brights (pillarbox red is just classic), patent, sheer and sparkly. AND Crocs - roll with this - have even designed a textured print pair that we love.

You don't have to opt for a knee-high pair either, River Island and New Look have some fab ankle boot styles to choose from.

Here's our pick of the best wellies to complete your festival ensemble.
