Jim Davidson Makes Edinburgh Fringe Festival Debut, Insisting: ‘I'm Not A Sexist, Racist, Homophobic Comedian'

'I'm Not Sexist, Racist Or Homophobic'

Jim Davidson has made his Edinburgh Fringe Festival debut, after insisting that he’s not racist, sexist or homophobic.

The comedian has often been criticised for his polarising sense of humour, however now, he’s spoken out, insisting that he isn’t the person many people think he is.

Speaking to The Guardian, Jim insists: “It is a difficult thing, comedy, and I'm on a loser.

The 60-year-old’s debut show is ‘No Further Action’, the title of which is a reference to the nine months he spent under investigation as part of Operation Yewtree.

Jim has come under fire multiple times throughout his career after making jokes which were largely considered to be offensive.

In 2007, he left reality TV show ‘Hell’s Kitchen’ after a number of disagreements with fellow contestant Brian Dowling, who objected to Jim’s language and jokes, which included referring to him as a "shirt lifter".

However, despite multiple controversies Jim is still popular with the public and in early 2014, he was crowned winner of ‘Celebrity Big Brother’.
