Sushi Nail Art: The Next Big Beauty Trend?

Nail trends come and go, but in Japan, there's only one look to wear.

Pictures of sushi nail art have gone viral this summer thanks to a recent craze for posting snaps of sashimi, nigri-sushi and maki-sushi-inspired designs on social media.

The images have been retweeted thousands of times - and the stranger (or "cuter") the better. The latest trend? Plain old polish is over - it's all about 3D manicures...

Celebrities have been getting on board with the look too. Model Georgia May Jagger posted this picture on her Instagram page with the caption, "Amazing sushi nails by the legendary @mariannewman."

As for our favourite look so far, it's got to be these extra-long nails featuring a fish tail design. It's not exactly practical, but if you're going to wear food on your fingers, this is how it's done...
