With EU and Western leaders piling pressure on Vladimir Putin with financial sanctions, Russia has retaliated by launching a food fight.
Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said Russia's "full embargo" would include fruit, vegetables, meat, fish, milk and dairy imports from the United States and the European Union, with Japan, Australia, Canada and Norway also affected.

Given Russia is a major buyer of food from the United States and Europe, this marks a major escalation in tensions stemming from the crisis in Ukraine.
This is not the first time Russia has cut down on the food it imports, after banning Polish apples, which sparked the "#eatapples" counter-protest.
