Manchester United's talent pool has barely been damp this century, but James Wilson is one youngster at the club's youth academy who is generating justified hype.
On Thursday night Wilson, who scored twice on his first-team debut against Hull in May, struck all four in the Reds' Manchester Senior Cup win against Manchester City.
United-made strikers that "make it" at the club are rarer than David Moyes victories against top four sides, and Danny Welbeck's struggles inside the penalty box have only highlighted the burden of leading the line for the Reds, let alone as a homegrown frontman.

Biddulph-born Wilson, 18, is a genuinely exciting prospect, as Welbeck was in his teens. Will Keane, Wilson's effective predecessor, is still at the club but his hopes of a United first-team career were, effectively, cruelly scuppered by a knee injury in 2012.
Wilson, however, boasts the potential to become the finest United-developed striker since Mark Hughes and, as he displayed against City, reserve team football is already beneath him.
It is looking increasingly likely Javier Hernández will not be at United this time next month, which could enable Wilson to emerge as United's fourth-choice striker unless Louis van Gaal decides to send the youngster out on loan for the season.
