Audrey Hepburn's Beehive Is The Most Iconic Hairstyle Ever

Hair trends come and go but there are a handful of styles that remain iconic and the beehive is one of them.

In a recent poll, the signature Sixties updo was named the most memorable style of the last 50 years.

And who made the beehive so popular? Audrey Hepburn. Thanks to her role as Holly Golightly in Breakfast at Tiffany's, it will always be remembered as chic and classic.

Sacha Mascolo-Tarbuck, Global Creative Director for Toni & Guy, spoke to the Express about the results.

"Audrey Hepburn's beehive in Breakfast at Tiffany's is a style almost everyone is familiar with, even if they have never seen the film," he said.

"The image of her with her dark hair piled up while she is clutching a cigarette holder is one of the most recognisable film images of all time."

Other memorable hairstyles include Farah Fawcett's Charlie's Angel's curls listed eighth, Elvis Presley's quiff, which came in second place and Bob Marley's dreadlocks in third.

The Duchess of Cambridge's hair was 13th in the list while Jennifer Aniston's Rachel cut was fourth.
