Bankrupt Blue Star Duncan James Forced To Sell Mum's House

Bankrupt pop star Duncan James has revealed his heartache at having to sell the home he bought for his mum at the height of his success.

The Blue star declared himself bankrupt last month, and told The Sun that his financial problems were down to investing in property for his family.

The 35-year-old, who is about to go on a reunion tour with Blue, said that he invested in bricks and mortar to build a secure future for his mother and his former girlfriend Claire Grainge, with whom he has a daughter. The father-of-one said he then ended up losing money when property prices crashed.

"I bought a house for my mum, I bought a house for my ex-partner and my daughter and I spent about £1million on my home," he said.

"'I've always wanted to to give my loved ones rooves over their heads and make sure they were taken care of, so that's what I did. Now I've had to sell the home I bought for my mum. And that's been the most heartbreaking part for me. I so wanted to care of her."

The heartbroken star said he is now living in rented accommodation, but is still trying to do all he can for his mum, despite 'starting from scratch'.
