Cheryl Cole's Secret Wedding Just Made Mustique Even More Popular

Mustique has always attracted the rich and famous - the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are regular visitors at the Middleton's holiday home and it's a favourite hangout with Kate Moss and Claudia Schiffer.

However, the latest celebrity behind the recent interest in the Caribbean island is Cheryl Cole.

After Cole's secret wedding to French entrepreneur Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini, interest in holidays to the island, part of St Vincent and the Grenadines, have surged.

Trip Advisor reports it has seen a 648 increase in online visitors.

"Mustique is a popular hangout for celebrities, and from reading traveller reviews of its two luxury hotels you can see why," said TripAdvisor spokesperson, James Kay.

The big day was allegedly arranged by the island's exclusive Cottons House resort where all staff members were sworn to secrecy.

Rates start at around £265 a night for the smallest Garden Cottage rooms, although as the Trip Advisor reviews suggest, there's nothing too basic about this hotel.

"The Cotton House has blown everything else away," wrote one guest. "Here is why - it has history (the museum, Sugar Mill, historic Cotton House), unbelievable natural beauty (it is set on a horseshoe beach which also happens to double as a bird sanctuary), the ability to explore and hands down has the best people working there."

Wish you were there? Us too. Mustique or not, you can still invest in a few new pieces for your summer holiday this year:
