Girl Calls Emergency Services After Finding A Spider On Her Sofa

A teenage girl was so terrified when she spotted a giant spider on her sofa that she called 911.

The girl – whose identity has not been revealed - was home alone in Oregon when she spotted the creature crawling on the back of the couch, and in a panicked state phoned the emergency services.

Admitting to the dispatcher she had a 'kind of a ridiculous question' the frightened youngster begged for help.

"I'm home alone and there is a giant spider on the back of my couch, and I'm talking giant," she told the 911 operator. "I've never seen a spider this big and I have no idea what to do."

Metro reports the girl claimed it was a 'massive freaking creature' the size of a 'baseball'.

The girl said she couldn't get hold of her parents and needed someone to help her kill it - and that her mum had recently been hospitalised after being bitten by a similar spider.

She officer quizzed her as to what the spider looked like and if it could be someone's pet, to which the girl replied it was definitely a 'wild' one!

Eventually, the emergency services sent an officer to the girl's home, where the perpetrator – a 5 CENTIMETRE spider – was reportedly caught and disposed of via a beating with a rolled up newspaper.
