The Golden Globes are upon us *screams*. But hang on a sec, there are a couple of names we just don't recognise on the ol' nominations list. So you're totally clued up if they end up scooping their award, here's a quick rundown on the nominees you may never have heard of...
1. Oscar Isaac
He's up for best actor in a musical or comedy for Inside Llewyn Davis while you may not know him by name you probably recognise his face from Drive and Body Of Lies. The 34-year-old has been in the biz for a decade and, as a child, dreamed of Hollywood and had a Coen brothers poster on his bedroom wall.
Is a French-American *takes deep breath* actress, director, screenwriter and singer-songwriter. She's a cult movie fave so if you're all about the big block busters you probably haven't heard of her. The 44-year-old won screenwirter of the year at the 2013 Hollywood Film Festival and she's tipped to scoop the Golden Globe for best actress in a comedy or musical for her part in Before Midnight.
American actress Greta is also up for the best actress in a comedy or musical gong for her role in Frances Ha. The 30-year-old made her mainstream debut in 2011, in No Strings Attached and also starred alongside Russell Brand in the remake of Arthur. While her character in Frances Ha spends the movie struggling with turning 27, Greta herself was filming scenes with Helen Mirren on her 27th birthday.
Up for best supporting actor for his part in Rush Daniel started his career on German soap opera Forbidden Love way back when in 1995. You may remember him from Quentin Tarantino flick Inglourious Basterds. But if you don't here's a fun fact: he is fluent in German, English, Spanish, French and Catalan!
Lupita is a Kenyan actress and filmmaker and made her worldwide film debut in Steve McQueen's 12 Years a Slave, as Patsey. Up for best supporting actress this girl is one to keep your eye on. She will also star in the flick Non-Stop which is set for release this year. Random fact? Her cousin Isis Nyong'o was named one of Africa's most powerful women by Forbes magazine in 2012.
