But she still dressed like she was attending a red carpet event, looking exquisite as well as trendy in a bright red tux-style pant suit for her evening at West Hollywood's Madeo restaurant.
The actress looked super-chic in the loose-fit flares, keeping her hair sleek and understated (yet still glossy and gorgeous) and her makeup simple, apart from a pop of matching red lippie.
Kate got heads turning - and tongues wagging - at the recent Bvlgari pre-Oscar party, where she wowed in a yellow shirt and white miniskirt, but appeared to be sans engagement ring.
Rumours have been swirling that her relationship with Muse frontman Matt Bellamy is in jeopardy..
