Kate Middleton, The Duchess Of Cambridge, 'Chatted Up' By D-Day Veteran! Cute!

Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, was 'chatted up' by a former desert rat during a veterans' tea party to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the D-Day landings. Prepare yourselves - this is the CUTEST tale ever!

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were in France for the memorial events and attended the tea party in Arromanches when pensioner Arthur Jones asked the Duchess for a kiss.

According to the Daily Mirror, when Duchess Kate sat down to talk to the 88-year-old, he asked her: "Is it okay to kiss a Princess?"

And of course, she could hardly say no and accepted his offer.

Jones gave her a kiss on the cheek and later said: "As the prince left he said to me 'Were you chatting up my wife?'

"I told him I only gave her a kiss. William laughed but I'm chuffed I've chatted up a Princess. I bet I'll be picked up now and taken to the Tower of London.

"It was a lovely kiss - she is very sweet and very lovely. I lost my wife 10 years ago, and I'm on my own now, so I don't get many opportunities for kisses anymore. I always thought Kate looked beautiful, but she has a very down to earth personality - it was like she was one of us."

And as always, Kate was looking pretty fab when she pitched up at the tea party wearing a blue Alexander McQueen coat and black hat.

We even got a little update on how Prince George is doing when 94-year-old Eric Presland asked her about the 10-month-old tot.

He said: "I asked Kate how was the little 'un and she said if he were there, he would be making short work of the plate of cakes. She said he was into everything, and really starting to walk."

Awwww, adorable baby George is already up on his feet!
