Kylie Minogue Opens Up About Ex Michael Hutchence

Aussie singer Kylie Minogue choked back the tears as she opened up about her two-year relationship with the late INXS rocker Michael Hutchence.

Talking in an upcoming episode of Australian TV show 60 Minutes the 46-year-old confessed she'd "never met anyone like him" before and fell madly in love.

In a preview clip the singer can be seen welling up as she talked over their brief but intense romance which famously ended over the phone when Michael met Danish supermodel Helena Christensen.

"It was great love and it was true heartbreak," she admitted, adding: "It's a mixture, a mixture of emotions and memories."

She continued: "I had so many firsts with him."

This isn't the only time the star has opened up about their 1980s relationship. Earlier this year the singer confessed that Michael was responsible for so many of her life experiences.

"Let's just say I was 21 and my eyes were open to the world," the star told GQ Australia.

"You want to experience everything and I couldn't think of a better person to, you know, take those first steps into the big wide world with."

The pair remained close until the INXS frontman tragic suicide at the Ritz-Carlton hotel in Sydney, Australia, in 1997.

"I remember thinking that at the time, that of course his was the first funeral and the first kind of thing like that because Michael was just so many firsts in my life... He was. Yes, he was."
