Leighton Meester Is Beautiful In Midnight Blue For Of Mice And Men Opening Night On Broadway

Leighton Meester completely stole the show at the opening night of Broadway's Of Mice and Men in New York on Wednesday.

The 28-year-old American actress worked the red carpet during the after party at The Plaza Hotel, alongside co-stars Chris O'Dowd and James Franco, in a stunning Versace gown.

The Gossip Girl star may have stolen Adam Brody right from under our nose, but we can't not love this look. The plunging navy chiffon number and black ankle strap sandals confirmed that the lady does beyond-beautiful pretty well.

Leighton teamed her dress (complete with thigh-high split and drape detailing at the hips) with just the right amount of bling too - her jewellery was by Kimberly McDonald and Jacob and Co. As for the boxy white clutch bag? The perfect hand held.

On the beauty front? Wavy dark tresses and a subtle smoky eye looked all understated and elegant - this is Meester's Broadway debut after all. And she's the only female in the production, though guaranteed Chris O'Dowd and James Franco are awesome to work with.

Leighton spoke about working with Franco in her interview with Newsday. "It's no surprise that anyone so intelligent is so funny. He's very funny. He finds a lot of funny moments that really make the character more human," she said. We knew it.
