Lupita Nyong'o To Produce And Star In New Movie

Lupita Nyong'o has been in the spotlight in recent months for her amazing style and stunning performance in 12 Years A Slave.

Now the actress has announced one of her future projects will see her star in and produce a flick. She revealed on Instagram that she had acquired the rights to adapt the Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie novel Americanah into a film.

She said: "Yes!!! 'Tis true: I acquired the rights to make a film of this amazing book by this amazing writer. I HIGHLY recommend the read #Americanah #GrabIt"

Nyong'o, who won best supporting actress at The Oscars and is also the face of beauty line Lancome, is set to team up with Brad Pitt for the film and his production company Plan B is also onboard with the project.

The book tells the tale of two young Nigerians whose romance is tested when one of them emigrates to America to go to university and the other ends up in London.

The actress is quoted in the Guardian as saying: "It is such an honour to have the opportunity to bring Ms Adichie's brilliant book to the screen. Page after page, I was struck by Ifemelu and Obinze's stories, whose experiences as African immigrants are so specific and also so imminently relatable. It is a thrilling challenge to tell a truly international story so full of love, humour and heart."

The 31-year-old is currently chilling in Maui, Hawaii, and had her first experience of the paparazzi as she strutted her stuff on the beach in a cute white bikini.

Taking it all in good humour, Lupita shared this snap on Instagram and captioned the pic: "The paparazzi: They got me good!!! #FirstPapStakeOut #ZoomLensesSuitableForHorrorFilms"

She's in Hawaii for the Maui Film Festival where she will accept the Rainmaker award for her performance in 12 Years A Slave.
