Mum Takes Her Four-Month-Old Son To A Rave. Outrageous Or Understandable?

The police are said to be 'liaising with social services' after a 41-year-old mum took her four-month-old baby son to a rave.

The Sun reports that Sarah-Jane Hulme took baby Django to a 'boozy gig' in Aberystwyth, North Wales.

Other party goers spotted Sarah-Jane cradling Django on the dance floor as ear-splitting drum and bass music blared out.

The Sun claims revelers became so concerned for Django's welfare – despite the fact his mum had kitted him out in ear-defenders – that they informed the police.

Sarah-Jane meanwhile insists she has done 'nothing wrong' and that it was the third time she had taken Django to a gig.

"I breast-feed him so he has to be with me. In France or Spain, parents are encouraged to take their kids to music festivals," she said. "My daughter Kerry was performing with her band in her home town for the first time and I wanted to be there. What's wrong with that?"

Sarah-Jane added that she had been searched for drugs by the police on her way in to the gig, but claimed the officer had said nothing about Django, who she says slept through the performance after being breast-fed.

When pictures of her were posted online, she was branded disgraceful and irresponsible by other parents.

But the defiant mum hit back at her critics saying she was acting in Django's best interests:

"I couldn't leave him with anyone as he needs to be breast-fed every couple of hours. I don't think I've been irresponsible at all," she said.
