New York Fashion Week: Victoria Beckham Autumn/Winter 2014

Victoria Beckham'sAutumn/Winter 2014 catwalk show, one of the most anticipated during fashion month (and not just for the fabulous front-row scene), did not disappoint.

The clean, minimal New York City show space was the perfect backdrop for what Victoria terms as the spirit of "elegant sensibility" through her latest collection.

The line was contemporary but with a classic, timeless femininity displayed across stunning pieces such as long, tailored outerwear with chain detailing, floor-length gowns with pleated skirts, a fur-trimmed shift dress and a pristine monochrome palette.

It wasn't all monochrome though, there were flashes of print too and a stunning cocoon-style, shin-length red dress worn with black patent lace-up flats. Yes FLATS, flat shoes were a running trend.

The piece de resistance? The stunning, white, sheer shift dress with ruffle detailing around the hem. The collection, along with the flawless hair and makeup, was all minimal elegance - the Victoria Beckham woman is sleek, sophisticated and completely self-assured.

And as far as front row fabulous goes? Yes Anna Wintour was there with Grace Coddington (but of course), but all eyes were on the beautiful Beckham brood. Harper, sporting her signature top-knot do, sat on David's lap to soak up the scene proving that she's the cutest, trendiest tot that ever was.

Considering that Victoria's first ever collection, a capsule of just 10 dresses, was showcased during New York Fashion Week in September 2008 at Waldorf Towers - it's incredible how far the Brit designer has come in just five years.

Bodycon is out, luxe tailoring and masterful movement is in - this collection was Victoria doing what she calls "360-degree dressing".

This line up is exactly how to do understated chic this Autumn/Winter, take a look through La Beckham's full line up in our gallery below. She's done it again, she's designed movable, wearable wares that we ALL want to be seen in...
