Period Parties Are A Real Thing According To Hello Flo's New Advert

Hello Flo, a tampon subscription service, made headlines last summer with its slightly odd viral advert entitled Camp Gyno. Now it's back with a brand new campaign video all about period parties.

While the company's last offering - which saw a girl become super popular at summer camp when she dished out sanitary towels to her fellow campers - left us in a muddle with its attempt to glam up periods, we were a little tickled by the latest version.

The new ad tells the tale of a girl with the opposite problem to Little Miss Gyno. All her friends have started their "cherry slush" and she hasn't. Naturally she decides to fake it and paint a pantie liner with red nail polish (we didn't say it wasn't weird) and leaves it somewhere her mum will find it.

Unsurprisingly, her mum isn't exactly convinced by the glittery substance smeared across the towelling in the shape of Florida and decides to question her daughter. When she doesn't fess up, mum throws her a "first moon party" AKA the worst type of party to celebrate (SLASH as punishment).

Watch the video here:

The period party includes bobbing for ovaries, menstrual-themed chocolate fondue, a uterus pinata and a "vagician".

If you're anything like us you probably longed for the day your period would start, despite your mum telling you to enjoy the blood-free life while you could... If only we'd listened.
