Pregnant Kate Middleton Causes Sales Surge In Moses Baskets

Moses baskets are apparently having a 'Kate Effect' sales surge, after the royal mum-to-be was spotted shopping for one with her mum, Carole.

The Mail reports that Asda has experienced a 57 per cent increase in online sales of Moses baskets since the weekend when Kate and Carole were snapped shopping for a cream basket in upmarket Kensington.

The run on the wicker cribs comes just weeks after Topshop sold out of the polka dot dress Kate wore for a trip to the Harry Potter studios.

Asda also reckons that its blue buggy sales are going to soar since Kate revealed she had purchased a blue Bugaboo pram for her imminent arrival.

Asda Baby and Toddler Club manager Claire Smith said: "Shoppers across the UK want to offer their little ones the Royal treatment, and the blue buggy reports look set to send the nation into a princely state of excitement ahead of its birth this summertime."
