Prince George's Christening: The Girls Rumoured To Be His Godmothers

Prince George's Christening: The Girls Rumoured To Be His Godmothers

Aside from being Beyonce's right-hand woman or David Gandy's private secretary/dresser, a job we really would enjoy is Godmother to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's little bundle of joy, Prince George.

However, it seems we have some stiff competition to the role that has our name on it in the form of, some would say, two more appropriate candidates. Humpf.

According to The Daily Mail, the two names being whispered in the grand corridors of Buck P are Princess Beatrice and Lady Sarah Chatto (Princess Margaret's daughter, aka the Queen's niece, in case you're not up on your royal deets).

As the eldest daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, and Prince William's cousin, we can see that Princess Bea might be a rather spiffing choice. She's smart (she used to work in finance, don't you know?), has a nice stable relationship, but also likes to have fun and live on the edge, like, er, taking time off her high-brow job to go on holiday. A girl after our own heart.

As for Lady Sarah, we know less about her but, at 49, she'll have a wealth of life experience and royal what-not to impart to little George as he grows up. Sounds pretty good to us.

Prince George's christening will take place on 23rd October at Chapel Royal in London and will be conducted by the Archbishop of Canterbury - it's going to be like the Lindo Wing debacle all over again.

While we learn to live with regal rejection, why not enjoy some lovely pictures of the Duchess in our gallery. Go on, you know you want to.
