Prince William Likes Loom Bands Too

The Duke of Cambridge Prince William is apparently a fan of loom bands and was seen sporting a bracelet made of the plastic loops during a visit to Coventry.

While a loom band dress just reached £170,000 on auction site eBay, it seems the 32-year-old royal is onboard with the latest playground craze too.

Dressed in a navy suit, red and blue striped tie and a pair of polished dress shoes William looked his usual smart self apart from the Loom Band bracelet he was spotted sporting on his wrist.

Prince William isn't the only royal to get down with the kids and the loom band craze - his wife Kate Middleton is also a fan.

Wills was given the accessory by one of the many people who turned out to see him as he paid a visit to the Midlands city, but confessed he already has a 200-strong stash at home.

"The loom bands are an absolute phenomenon," senior buyer for stockist Hobbycraft, Anna Protherough told the Mail Online.

"We began stocking the kits since they originally launched last year and since the Duchess of Cambridge was seen wearing one, they have been flying off our shelves.

"The options for what you can create are endless and these kits really can keep children entertained for hours, perfect for the summer holidays."

The news comes after a dress made from 20,000 loom bands reached £170,000 on eBay. The one-of-a-kind dress was listed by Helen Wright from North Wales, who had the idea to create the loom band design after her helping her 12-year-old daughter Sian make the bracelets.

The mother-daughter duo had hoped they might earn £50 from the sale of the dress - made from 20,000 bands - to cover their costs. However, Wright has been left "shocked" by the bidding war she has sparked.
