A teenage boy is in hospital in Devon after allegedly being stabbed at school by a fellow student.

Sky News reports that officers were called to Eggbuckland Community College in Plymouth, Devon, this morning after the 15-year-old boy suffered a back injury.

He is not thought to be in a life threatening condition.

The police arrested a 14-year-old boy at the scene on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

Superintendent Chris Singer of Devon and Cornwall Police told Sky that the suspect was now in custody.

"We are investigating the circumstances of this incident and would like to reassure people that there is no danger to anyone else," Supt Singer said.

"The alleged weapon that was used has been seized and the suspect has been arrested."
