Socks: Tried and tested on tiny toes

Finding socks that actually stay put on your little one's feet is the Holy Grail of baby shopping.

OK, so it's possible to buy special elastic gizmos to keep them on, but should we really have to encase our toddler's toes in what look like footballer's ankle supports when all we want is a sock that does what socks ought to do - stay put?

With this in mind, we've put the high street's best socks on trial...

The testers:

Sam, 13 months

Skills: Crawling and cruising

Hobbies: Getting into mischief; hiding under tables

Evie, 20 months

Skills: Walking and dancing

Likes: Soft play; pushing her wooden pram
