The Windsors Meet Windsor: Kate And Wills Leave Prince George At Home As They Travel On London Bus

No, your eyes are not deceiving you.

That really is the Duchess of Cambridge sitting next to the Queen Vic's Peggy Mitchell (aka Barbara Windsor – a case of Windsor meeting Windsor!).

And, yes, that is Prince William sitting on a London bus with the hoi polloi. And, no, they are not lookalikes!

The Duke (left) and Duchess of Cambridge (2nd right) and Barbara Windsor (right) surprised hundreds of commuters as they travelled on a 1960s Routemaster bus to High Street Kensington station where they met military personnel and volunteers supporting London Poppy Day.

The Royal couple left baby Prince George at home and travelled by bus to surprise hundreds of commuters at an Underground station to support London Poppy Day with EastEnders' actress Barbara Windsor and newsreader Alastair Stewart.

When asked about George, Kate said "He's half asleep,' with William adding: "He's behaving himself this morning."

Organisers are aiming to raise more than £1 million in a single day. All funds will go towards the national Poppy Appeal fund-raising target of £37 million to allow the Royal British Legion to carry out its vital work.
