Winona Ryder Goes Gothic For V Magazine Cover

MyDaily's favourite Nineties actress Winona Ryder is on the cover of V magazine looking all gothic and gorgeous.

But it's not all fash chat in the Winter 13/14 issue. Ryder opens up about her troubled childhood and explains why she had to drop out of school after being bullied.

"I was obsessed with Bugsy Malone and had cut my hair short," the 42-year-old tells the magazine. "I remember the halls were empty and these kids started shouting "f****t" and I didn't think they were talking to me."

After leaving high school, a young Winona found she had more time on her hands so joined a local theatre group - where she was later spotted by a casting director.

"Had I not been home schooled I would not have been able to go," she admits. "It's almost weird fate that it happened that way."

Ryder also addresses her ad hoc appearances on the big screen. "I was not strategic at all. I do remember feeling a lot of pressure," she says.

"I remember a lot of conversations where I was constantly hearing, 'You've gotta do this movie so you can do that movie. You've gotta make a big movie so you can make a small movie.' But I can't act like that."
