Paul O’Grady has helped find the latest four-legged star to hit the ‘Coronation Street’ cobbles, with a rescue dog from his series ‘For The Love Of Dogs’ appearing in an episode of the soap on Friday night.
Krystal, an American Bulldog, was scouted by Paul while filming the third series of his dog-rescue series, which is due to hit screens in September.

Immediately recognising Krystal’s obvious star power - she is basically a canine Lady Gaga, without the wigs - the TV presenter helped her land a walk-on part on ‘Coronation Street’, where she got to work alongside soap veterans like Bill Roache and Anne Kirkbride, who play Ken and Deirdre Barlow.
Paul said: “She was good as gold. In her scene Ken is preparing his car and caravan to go camping with Deirdre and he’s outside the Rovers fixing the engine. Krystal comes out of the Rovers with Ali, the dog handler, and walks over the road, it took one take, the dog was the star! I think it was my tutelage in the dressing room.
“She gave the Barlows a run for their money, she upstaged the lot of them. That’s my girl, she’s a star!”
In ‘Paul O’Grady: For The Love of Dogs’, the Birkenhead-born TV personality is seen working with Battersea Dogs & Cats Home, meeting animals in need of a new home.
