Frustrated by her teens ignoring her calls, Sharon Standifird hit them where it hurts - developing an app that can lock teenagers' phones from afar.

Evil. But we like it.

"When you lock your child's phone with Ignore No More your child has only two options – he or she can call you back, or call for an emergency responder," the app's website explains. "Now you have their attention. Ignore No More is an easy to install app that gives you control over your children's phones."

Parents can set a password that unlocks the phone, thus encouraging their child to call back quickly so that they can reclaim their phone's functionality and continue to snigger over viral videos, Snapchat, plan their social lives on Whatsapp and reply 'yh' (promptly!) to parents' banal questions.

Ms Standifird, a Texas mum of two, consulted with designers and developers for months to create the Android app.

Ms Standifird's own son Bradley said rather poignantly: "I thought it was a good idea, but for other people - not me."
