The BBC have announced the first male dancer for this year’s series of ‘Strictly Come Dancing’, revealing that Kelly Brook’s former beau Thom Evans will be taking part.

The rugby star joins Judy Murray, Alison Hammond and The Saturdays’ singer Frankie Sandford, who will also shimmy across the dancefloor later this year.

Thom has shared his excitement at signing up, stating: "“I'm so happy to be doing the show, I cannot wait to get started. I’m really looking forward to my Strictly makeover – bring on 'Strictly' and bring on the spandex!"

There are plenty of rumours about who else could be on board and Jake Wood, who plays Max Branning in ‘EastEnders’ also looks set to sign up.

It’s likely that at least one ‘TOWIE’ star will be dusting off their sequin shirts, as Mark Wright and his pal James ‘Arg’ Argent have both expressed an interest in the show.

Darcey Bussell has also revealed that producers are desperate to boost the man count by signing up a certain Olympic medal-winning cyclist.

The new series will be the first one without Bruce Forsyth, who announced his retirement from the show earlier this year.
