ALS Ice Bucket Challenge: Russell Brand Gets In On The Act And Nominates David Cameron, Sean Hannity And Jeremy Paxman (VIDEO)

Russell Feels The Chill

Russell Brand has become the latest celebrity to chuck a load of cold water over themselves in the name of charity, as part of the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge.

The campaign - intended to raise awareness of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, better known as Motor Neurone Disease in the UK - sees people dousing themselves in freezing water and then sharing the results on social media, but not before nominating three friends to do the same.

After being nominated by TV chef Jamie Oliver, Russell uploaded a video to his YouTube page on Thursday, having not one but two buckets of icy water thrown over him by “NHS employees”, with the comedian joking: “That way I’m protected.”

Russell was predictably creative with his nominations beforehand, choosing Prime Minister David Cameron, as well as media personalities Sean Hannity and Jeremy Paxman, both of whom he’s been engaged in pretty heated debates with in past interviews.

Let’s see if any of them rise to the challenge.

One star you definitely won’t be seeing involved in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge any time soon is former ‘Baywatch’ actress Pamela Anderson, who publicly slated the campaign on her Facebook page, claiming that the ALS Association’s use of animal testing conflicts with her strong views in favour of animal rights.
