Rita Ora has insisted that she won’t let her rather public war of words with ex-boyfriend Calvin Harris bring her down.
The pair were an item for over a year, during which time they worked together on her number one single ‘I Will Never Let You Down’, but after their split, Rita revealed in an interview that Calvin had refused to let her promote their collaboration with a performance at the Teen Choice Awards.

When quizzed about why she thought he’d put the brakes on her performance, she told presenter Ryan Seacrest he’d have to “ask Calvin”, adding that she was not at all surprised that he’d done it.
Calvin has since hit back at his ex on Twitter, claiming that although he wouldn’t be publicly addressing why he wouldn’t give Rita permission to perform their song - in his words “because I choose not to talk to the papers about every aspect of my personal life” - he did say he had a “damn good reason” for his actions.

Speaking about their tiff in a chat with The Sun, Rita has now revealed: “People forget that I’m a 23-year-old girl. What do normal girls my age do? They’re at uni, dating. It’s been difficult but it takes more than a few words to knock this girl out.”
She also downplayed rumours that she’d had to put back the release date of her album because of disagreements with Calvin over songs that he’d produced, adding: “It was always meant to have been released early next year. That’s never changed. I don’t understand why people said anything different.”
Meanwhile, last week Rita cut an interview short when a journalist asked her a question about Calvin.
