Neil Warnock Named Crystal Palace Manager

Guess Who's Coming Back To Palace?

Neil Warnock has been named Crystal Palace manager for the second time.

The 65-year-old has agreed a two-year deal with the Eagles and replaces Tony Pulis, who left the club 13 days ago.

Warnock managed Palace for three years between 2007-10 and was "let go" when the club was in administration but will return to Selhurst Park ahead of Saturday afternoon's trip to Newcastle United.

Palace co-chairman Steve Parish decided to hire Warnock over former West Brom coach Steve Clarke.

Warnock won promotion to the Premier League with Sheffield United and QPR

Warnock's arrival could prove to be awkward for Palace winger Jason Puncheon, who was fined £15,000 by the Football Association earlier this year following Twitter comments he made in relation to his former boss.

Puncheon was criticised by Warnock for his memorably atrocious penalty at Tottenham in January and said he would accept "banter" over his miss "but I will not live with [Warnock's] opinion."

The 28-year-old spent four months on loan at Queens Park Rangers under Warnock in 2011.

Warnock won promotion to the Premier League with Sheffield United in 2006 and QPR five years later, however the Blades were relegated in controversial circumstances and Warnock was sacked halfway through QPR's first season back in the top flight for 15 years.
