Joan Rivers' family is keeping vigil at her bedside in a New York hospital, facing the heartbreaking decision of whether to keep her on the life support machine that is aiding her breathing.

The veteran star has been in a medically induced coma since Thursday, when she was rushed to hospital after she stopped breathing during a procedure on her vocal cords at a clinic.
