The iPhone 6 Will Become Your Digital Wallet

Apple's Replacing Your Wallet With The iPhone 6

Apple will reportedly launch the iPhone 6 with NFC, making it the first Apple product to include the wireless technology.

Sources familiar with the matter have spoken to Wired and confirmed that Apple's next iPhone will launch with digital payments as a significant focus.

According to Wired the company has been filing a number e-wallet patents that would enable Apple to launch the iPhone as a digital wallet.

The addition of Touch ID would also play a major role helping to keep the information secure while allowing secure wireless payments.

Apple has already invested heavily in another wireless technology: iBeacon. By using Bluetooth Low Energy the iPhone is able to pick up wireless information from nearby sources letting you see tailored ads or even helping you find your way around a large building.

While the company placed little focus on the concept of iBeacons at WWDC 2014 it's believed that they'll play a major role in Apple's push for the smart home.
