Who's Been Named The Most Successful Singer Of All-Time?

Mariah Carey has been named the Most Successful Singer Of All-Time by Time Magazine, surprisingly beating music greats including Whitney Houston and Elvis Presley.

According to the magazine, Mariah’s continuous success in the charts and as an award-winning artist mean she gets the title ahead of all other recording artists.

The accolade commends the ‘We Belong Together’ singer’s continuous success, despite the fact her most recent release, ‘Me. I Am Mariah… The Elusive Chanteuse’, has failed to make an impact in the charts.

While Mariah has had a long and successful career, her latest album has shifted just over 100,000 copies in the UK.

Mariah hasn’t exactly been having the easiest time lately and last week, she dodged questions about the state of her marriage, telling photographers that it was simply too hot to chat.

Meanwhile, her husband Nick Cannon has confirmed that things aren’t going too smoothly, admitting that they have been living in separate houses for a number of months, adding: “There’s trouble in paradise”.

During her career, Mariah has scooped five Grammy Awards and her most successful year was 2005, when she triumphed with the release of her singles ‘We Belong Together’ and ‘Don’t Forget About Us’.
