George Osborne has managed to dodge taking part in the ice bucket challenge, after was he challenged by Labour shadow chancellor Ed Balls.

Balls nominated Osborne on Sunday, after taking part in the charity craze over the weekend. Speaking in the Commons today Balls said: "Don't worry, I'm not going to press you on your ice bucket challenge to you today."

Osborne replied: "I'd rather make the extra donation to charity and pour the water over his economic policies."
