Ray Wilkins has been appointed as the new coach of Jordan after a short stint at Fulham last season.

The 57-year-old will be assisted by former Manchester United and Republic of Ireland forward Frank Stapleton and the pair will take charge of the team against Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur on October 11.

The Jordanian Football Association said on its official website that its president HRH Prince Ali Bin Al-Hussein had chosen Wilkins.
