Cara Delevingne's Debut Mulberry Bag Collection Is A Sell Out

Cara Delevingne's debut Mulberry bag collection launched on the brand's website this week and there's already a waiting list with 1,000 names on it. Shocker.

The Telegraph reports that the most popular style is the taupe silky classic calf backpack with gold lion rivets complete with "Made in England" stamped on the bottom (a definite nod to Cara's signature tattoos). Yours for a cool £1,600 - if you're prepared to wait.

Then there's the oxblood natural leather version (£695) and the Delevingne green quilted lamb nappa

style(£1,200) sending shoppers - and Delevingne fan girls - into frenzy.

UK deliveries are already being scheduled to keep up with the demand, but surely the Somerset-based brand knew a collaboration with Cara would be a huge success?

It's that classic case of 'It' girl's 'It' bag, and it works like a charm.

The Alexa, the satchel that takes two iconic Mulberry styles - the Bayswater bag and the Elkington briefcase - launched in 2009 and was named after Brit model Alexa Chung. And it's *still* going strong on the arm candy front.

The big question is, will the Cara Delevingne Collection outdo the Alexa?

Both ladies are style icons in their own right, both have a huge fan base and a definite influence in the fashion industry. But let's not make this about popularity, let's just focus on the luxe leather goods.
