London Underground Chaos: Queues Galore As Kings Cross Works Cause Tube Closures

Happy Wednesday! London Commuters Endure Hellish Maze Of Queues

A glance at these pictures is likely to make you want to put your head in your hands and climb back into bed.

So spare a thought for the poor commuters who were caught up in it.

Work to remove loose concrete from the roof of King's Cross Underground station in London meant that no Circle line trains were able to run.

The work also resulted in no services between Baker Street and Aldgate on the Metropolitan line and between Baker Street and Barking on the Hammersmith & City line.

To add to travellers' frustrations, there were severe delays on the Central line due to late-running engineering work.

All of these factors combined resulted in queues almost as far as the eye could see. Sigh.

On the main line, a problem at Edmonton Green in north London meant that Abellio Greater Anglia trains were unable to run between Cheshunt/Enfield Town and Liverpool Street via Seven Sisters. The disruption was expected to continue until around 3pm today.

There were also delays for those travelling to work on London Overground and with the Southern train company.

This was due to a signalling problem at Queens Road in Peckham, south-east London.

It was affecting London Overground services between Highbury & Islington and Surrey Quays and Southern's trains between London Bridge station and Wimbledon/Sutton.

Happy Wednesday!
