The Dixons Carphone group has announced that it will be offering jobs to all 800 of its Phones 4u store-in-store staff as well as a further 1500 jobs as part of a Carphone Warhouse expansion.
In a statement released today the company announced:
"We can confirm that we will be offering jobs to all 800 of our Phones 4U store-in-store colleagues within Curry's PC World stores with immediate effect. We are recruiting for a further 1500 vacancies across Carphone Warehouse and welcome enquiries from anyone interested in applying for these positions.
"
While the first part of that statement will be an immediate lifeline for 800 Phones 4u staff the news of 1500 extra jobs will surely be a small but positive boost for the potential 5,500 Phones 4u employees that are currently waiting for news after their company announced it would be going into administration.
Phones 4u stores have been closed since Monday while an administrator is put in place to evaluate the company's current financial situation.
