Destiny Is About To Change In A Big Way

Destiny Is About To Get A Lot Harder (For Some)

Over the next few months Destiny is going to change in a massive way. As proof that Destiny is an ongoing project, Bungie has confirmed that from today it will be making big changes to the weapons as well as adjusting gameplay mechanics.

This huge overhaul includes rebalancing the damage weapons dish out as well as changing how the Strike missions work in order to make them feel less 'grindy'.

In a blog post the developer revealed that it would be fixing the current trend of 'cave farming' a technique which has seen players gang up and grab endless loot from shooting into the caves.

"Shooting at a black hole for hours on end isn't our dream for how Destiny is played. Our hope is that social engagement in public spaces is only one part of the Destiny experience."

One of the other big changes will be how Strikes work. If there was one thing that critics agreed on it was that Strikes were hard, and not in a good way. Two hours of gameplay would often result in the last hour being spend just emptying clips into a huge boss that seemingly took no damage whatsoever. Well it turns out that wasn't the plan at all and Bungie is keen to fix it.

"Expect to see this addressed soon, and for Strikes to become a little less grindy as a result."

Next up are weapons. They're getting overhauled in a big way. Exotic weapons take ages to get but then never quite live up to the hype. Bungie's fixing that.

Auto rifles are also getting a demotion after it was found that they were proving to be more powerful than Scout rifles at medium to long range. An unfortunate error considering the Scout rifle's sole purpose was to be better than the Auto rifle at medium to long range.

No matter as Bungie's also fixing that.
