The much-hyped trailer for 'Inherent Vice' has been aired, with Joaquin Phoenix depicting a drug-fuelled detective in LA on the hunt for his missing ex-girlfriend.
Based on the novel by Thomas Pynchon, all the slick action takes place in the 1970s. The film also features Josh Brolin, Reese Witherspoon and Owen Wilson.
'Inherent Vice ' will have it's world premiere on 4 October with UK release scheduled for 30 January 2015.
