Olympic Great Phelps 'Sorry' For Drink-Driving Arrest

Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps said he is "deeply sorry" after he was arrested and charged with driving under the influence.

The 29-year-old was stopped at the Fort McHenry Tunnel in Baltimore in the US, and Maryland Transportation Authority Police said he was going at 84mph in a 45mph zone.

Phelps became the most decorated Olympian at London 2012

Phelps, the most decorated Olympian of all time with 22 Olympic medals, has made an apology on Twitter and said he takes "full responsibility" for his actions.

He wrote:

Phelps was released after his arrest.

This is his second DUI charge in Maryland. A native of Baltimore County, the Olympic swimmer faced a similar charge in 2004 in the Eastern Shore area.
