‘EastEnders’ will welcome a new arrival in the coming weeks when Linda’s mum Elaine, played by Maria Friedman, arrives in Albert Square.
Elaine has been called in by Linda’s husband Mick, who’s struggling to work out why his wife has become so withdrawn.
Unbeknownst to Mick, Linda was the victim of a shocking sexual assault at the hands of Dean.
However, while Mick hopes Linda will open up to Elaine, the Pub Landlady remains quiet.
In the coming months, Linda will struggle to cope and it will be a long time before she reveals the truth about her attack.
Earlier this week, Kellie Bright and Matt Di Angelo, who play Linda and Dean, revealed how the storyline will pan out, while the show’s Executive Producer has stated that Dean won’t stand trial for the crime.
The Carter family are set to take centre stage in the run-up to to the ‘EastEnders’ 30th anniversary week in February 2015.
Elsewhere in the Square, the investigation into the murder of Lucy Beale is ongoing and the murderer will be revealed during a special live episode to commemorate the soap’s anniversary.
Watch ‘EastEnders’ from 13 October to see the events unfold.
