Ahead of the preview clip’s publication, David sent a number of cryptic tweets, which referenced the show, including: “Dear Twitter Friends: That gum you like is going to come back in style! #damngoodcoffee.”

The show’s 2016 return was alluded to by Ray Wise - who played Leyland Palmer - in January, when he stated that ‘Twin Peaks’ would probably only return when the 25 year mark was reached.

A number of rumours over the weekend suggested that third season would be made by Netflix, however the clip confirms that it will be broadcast on Showtime.
