Morrissey has undergone treatment for cancer, he has confirmed.
The former frontman of The Smiths has been hospitalised a number of times over the past 18 months, and he has now revealed, during an interview with the Spanish-language newspaper El Mundo, that he has been treated for cancer on a number of occasions.

The interview, translated on the Morrissey-Solo forum, sees him explain that his ill health had caused him to cancel several live shows, but remained characteristically blasé when talking about his treatments, stating: “They have scraped cancerous tissues from me four times already, but who cares?
“If I die, then I die. And if not, then I don’t."
The 55-year-old singer doesn't mention any details on the type of cancer he has been treated for, but he does admit that he is now feeling better, adding: “Right now I feel good.
“I am aware that in recent photos I look unwell, but that is what illness does. I'm not going to worry about that, I’ll rest when I'm dead.”
Morrissey was previously been warned by doctors and told to to slow down, which he admitted in an interview with Mexican radio station Reactor 105 last year, explaning: “It's difficult for me because, it's very engrained within me.”
Morrissey unveiled his most recent album, ‘World Peace Is None Of Your Business’, this summer, and it reached number two in the UK Album Chart.
He’s also recently turned his hands to writing, publishing his imaginatively-titled and lengthy memoir, ‘Autobiography’, last year, and plans to publish his first novel in 2015.
The music legend joked in the interview that once his novel is published, he “will be able to stop singing forever, which would make many people happy!”
