Why Keira Knightley Hates Twitter (With A Passion)

Keira Knightley has revealed she's not a fan of Twitter (to put it mildly.) But what's she got against it?

The actress said she joined the social networking site under a false name last year, but immediately regretted it.

And, after a grand total of 12 hours, she deleted the account.

But why does she hate is so? Speaking to the Standard at the beginning of the year, she said: "It made me feel a little bit like being in a school playground and not being popular and standing on the sidelines kind of going, 'Argh'."

And, according the Daily Telegraph, who caught up with her at this week's Opening Night Gala for the BFI London Film Festival, she's definitely not starting another account any time soon, saying: "Nothing could convince me to return to it."

Many people would kill for the millions of followers she would no doubt easily gain, but not for Keira is Twitter. Or selfies.

And, according to the Metro, it's not just Twitter she dislikes, but the internet in general. She once said: "I hate the internet, I find it dehumanising to constantly check emails or social sites which have become so fashionable."

Meanwhile, the star managed to look utterly glamorous even in the middle of a typical British downpour as she joined Benedict Cumberbatch at the premiere of their new film The Imitation Game for the opening night of the BFI London Film Festival at Leicester Square's Odeon.

She wowed in a gold Valentino couture gown with statement earrings and red heels.

Keira might not love Twitter, but we love Keira: See more pics of the star below:
